A Short Comedy Story: The Talking Parrot

Sharing is caring!

In a small village, there was a colorful parrot named Polly. Polly was very special because she could talk!

She loved to mimic the villagers, copying everything they said. But there was one problem—Polly loved to repeat everything, even the funny mistakes!

One day, Mrs. Patel, who was known for her loud voice, was cleaning her garden. She dropped her gardening gloves and shouted, “Oh no! I lost my gloves!”

Polly, sitting in a nearby tree, repeated, “I lost my gloves! I lost my gloves!”

Mrs. Patel looked up and laughed, “Oh Polly, you’re so funny! But I need to find my gloves.”

Later, Mr. Sharma, the baker, walked by with a basket of bread. He tripped over a stone and yelled, “Oops! I dropped all the bread!”

Polly quickly copied, “Oops! I dropped all the bread! Oops!”

Mr. Sharma looked at Polly and smiled. “You have a funny way of talking, Polly. But you made me laugh!”

That afternoon, the village children were playing near the river. One of the boys, Rohan, tried to jump over a big rock but fell right into the water. He shouted, “Help! I’m wet! Help!”

And, of course, Polly repeated, “Help! I’m wet! Help!”

Everyone in the village started laughing. Rohan climbed out of the water, dripping wet, and said, “Polly, you’re making me sound funny!”

Polly felt a little proud. She was making everyone laugh, but she started to wonder if she was only repeating mistakes. The next day, she decided to be a little smarter.

When the baker, Mr. Sharma, walked by again, Polly called out, “Mr. Sharma, you make the best bread in the village!”

Mr. Sharma stopped, smiled, and said, “Why, thank you, Polly! You’re the first one to say that today!”

Polly smiled too, feeling happy to say something nice for a change. From then on, Polly still had her funny moments, but she also shared a lot of kind words, making everyone in the village smile even more.
