The Last Letter Home

It was a cold evening when the soldier sat down to write. His name was James, and he had been away from home for many months.

The war had taken him far from his small town, where his mother, father, and little sister lived.

James had seen many things in the war—things he could never forget. But tonight, as he sat in the quiet of his camp, he thought only of home.

He missed the smell of fresh bread from his mother’s kitchen, the sound of his father’s laughter, and the way his sister would run to him when he came back from the fields.

He took out a small piece of paper and a pencil. His hands were cold, but he tried to write clearly.

“Dear Mother, Father, and Lily,

I hope this letter finds you well. I miss you all so much. The days here are long, and the nights are even longer.

I think of you every day and wish I could be with you. I know you must be worried, but please know I am doing my best to stay safe.

Tell Lily that I will bring her a gift when I come home. Tell Father that I remember everything he taught me. I will keep it all in my heart.

I don’t know when I will return, but I think of home every night before I sleep. You are always in my thoughts. Please don’t worry about me too much.

With all my love, James.”

James folded the letter carefully and placed it in an envelope. His heart was heavy, but he knew he had to send it. He stood up, put on his jacket, and walked to the camp’s mail station.

He handed the envelope to the officer and watched as the letter was sent on its way.

Little did he know that letter would be the last one he would ever send.

Weeks later, the war ended, but James never returned home. His family received a letter, but it was not the one they had been waiting for.

It was from the army, telling them that James had given his life for his country.

James’ parents and sister mourned, but they always remembered the last letter he had written. It was a letter full of love, hope, and memories.

They kept it close, reading it often, and feeling his presence in their hearts.

The last letter home was a reminder that, even in the darkest times, love never fades.

The House That Changed Its Shape

Once upon a time, in a small village, there was a house unlike any other. It was a strange house. Every night, while everyone was asleep, it would change its shape.

In the morning, the house would look like a big, square box. But by afternoon, it might turn into a round shape, with windows like eyes, and a door like a smile.

At night, the house would stretch tall like a tower, and its roof would become pointy like a mountain.

The villagers were curious. They would watch the house from their windows, wondering why it changed. Some were scared, but others thought it was fun.

One day, a little boy named Ravi decided to find out. He went to the house and knocked on the door. To his surprise, the door opened by itself!

“Hello?” Ravi called.

“Hello, little one,” a soft voice answered. Ravi stepped inside and saw no one. But the house was warm and cozy, with colorful lights glowing everywhere.

“Who are you?” Ravi asked.

“I am the house,” the voice said. “I can change because I am magical.”

“Why do you change?” Ravi asked.

“Because I want to make people happy,” the house replied. “When I change, people notice me and smile. I bring joy to the village.”

Ravi smiled. “I think it’s wonderful that you can do that.”

The house changed again, this time into a shape like a big flower, with petals that looked like soft pillows. Ravi sat down on one of the petals, feeling happy and relaxed.

From that day on, Ravi visited the house every afternoon. He would watch the house change its shape and learn new things about it.

The house became his best friend, and the villagers stopped being scared. They all started to love the house that could change, knowing it only wanted to spread happiness.

And so, the magical house lived happily, bringing smiles to everyone in the village.
