English Conversation about Hobbies & Interests – 1

Alex: Hey Jamie, long time no see! How have you been?

Jamie: Hey Alex! I’ve been great, thanks. How about you?

Alex: I’ve been good too, thanks. So, what have you been up to lately? Any new hobbies or interests?

Jamie: Yeah, actually! I’ve recently gotten into painting. It’s so relaxing and a great way to express creativity. How about you?

Alex: That sounds awesome! I’ve always wanted to try painting but never really got around to it. For me, I’ve been diving into hiking and nature photography. It’s been a fantastic way to combine my love for the outdoors with capturing beautiful moments.

Jamie: That sounds amazing! Do you go hiking often?

Alex: I try to go at least once a week. There’s this beautiful trail about an hour away that I visit frequently. The views are just breathtaking. How about your painting? Do you take classes, or is it more of a self-taught thing?

Jamie: It’s mostly self-taught. I started by watching YouTube tutorials and following along. Now I just experiment and see where my imagination takes me. It’s really satisfying to see the progress over time.

Alex: That’s so cool! Do you have a favorite style or subject you like to paint?

Jamie: Lately, I’ve been really into abstract art. It gives me a lot of freedom to play with colors and shapes. But sometimes I like to paint landscapes, especially after seeing beautiful nature photos—maybe some of yours could be my next inspiration!

Alex: I’d be honored! I could show you some of my favorite shots sometime. Maybe we could even go on a hike together, and you could bring your painting supplies. It could be a fun collaboration.

Jamie: That sounds like a fantastic idea! I’d love to capture the scenery firsthand and try painting it right there. Do you have a favorite hiking spot?

Alex: There’s this place called Sunset Peak. It’s a bit of a trek, but the view from the top during sunset is absolutely worth it. The colors in the sky are perfect for a painting.

Jamie: Sunset Peak sounds magical. I’m in! Let’s plan a trip soon. By the way, do you share your photos anywhere? Like on Instagram or a blog?

Alex: Yeah, I have an Instagram account where I post my best shots. It’s a nice way to connect with other photography enthusiasts and get feedback. What about you? Do you share your paintings online?

Jamie: I do! I have an Instagram too, but I also joined an online art community. It’s been great for getting constructive criticism and meeting other artists. It’s amazing how supportive and inspiring online communities can be.

Alex: Absolutely. Social media gets a bad rap sometimes, but it can be such a positive space for sharing and growing your passions. I’ll have to check out your art page. What’s your handle?

Jamie: It’s @JamieArtExpressions. I’d love to hear what you think of my work. And what’s yours? I can’t wait to see your photos.

Alex: Mine is @AlexNatureShots. Looking forward to seeing your paintings! This has been such a great catch-up. We should do this more often.

Jamie: Definitely! It’s been really fun chatting about our hobbies. Let’s make that hiking and painting trip happen soon.

Alex: For sure! I’ll send you some details, and we can pick a date. Talk to you soon, Jamie!

Jamie: Sounds perfect. Talk soon, Alex!

English Conversation about Hobbies & Interests – 2

Emma: Hey Liam! It’s been a while. How have you been?

Liam: Hey Emma! I’ve been good, thanks. How about you?

Emma: Doing well, thanks! I’ve been pretty busy with work, but I’ve also picked up a few new hobbies. How about you? Any new interests?

Liam: Yeah, actually! I’ve started learning how to play the guitar. It’s been challenging but really fun. What about you? What new hobbies have you picked up?

Emma: That’s awesome! I’ve always wanted to learn an instrument. As for me, I’ve gotten into baking. It’s been a delicious adventure trying out new recipes and experimenting with different flavors.

Liam: Baking sounds delicious! What’s your favorite thing to bake so far?

Emma: I think my favorite has to be sourdough bread. It took a few tries to get it right, but now it’s so satisfying to make. Plus, the smell of fresh bread in the house is amazing. What about you? How’s the guitar playing going?

Liam: Sourdough bread sounds amazing! Guitar is going well. I’ve learned a few basic chords and can play a couple of simple songs. It’s a great way to relax after a long day. Do you follow recipes, or do you come up with your own creations?

Emma: I started with recipes, but now I’m getting more comfortable experimenting. I’ve made some unique flavor combinations that turned out pretty well. Have you thought about joining a band or anything like that?

Liam: Not yet, but it’s definitely a goal for the future. For now, I’m just enjoying the learning process. Maybe once I get a bit better, I’ll look for some people to jam with. Do you share your baking creations with anyone?

Emma: Mostly with family and friends. They’re always eager to taste-test my latest experiments. I’ve also started an Instagram page to document my baking journey. It’s been fun connecting with other baking enthusiasts.

Liam: That’s a great idea! I should do something similar with my guitar progress. It might help keep me motivated. What’s your Instagram handle? I’d love to follow and see what you’re baking.

Emma: It’s @EmmaBakesDelights. I post photos of my creations and sometimes the recipes too. I’d love to see your guitar progress if you decide to share it.

Liam: Thanks! I’ll definitely check it out. I’m thinking about starting a YouTube channel to document my guitar journey. It could be a fun way to track my progress and maybe help other beginners too.

Emma: That sounds like a fantastic idea! It’s always inspiring to see someone’s progress and journey. Plus, you could connect with other guitar enthusiasts and maybe even get some tips and tricks.

Liam: Exactly! I’ll have to look into it more seriously. This has been a great chat, Emma. It’s always nice catching up and hearing about your latest adventures.

Emma: Likewise, Liam! It’s been fun talking about our hobbies. We should definitely do this more often. Maybe we can even have a baking and guitar session sometime.

Liam: That would be awesome! Let’s plan on it. I’ll bring my guitar, and you can show me some of your baking skills.

Emma: It’s a deal! Looking forward to it. Talk to you soon, Liam!

Liam: Talk soon, Emma! Take care!
