The Honest Woodcutter

The woodcutter said, “No, this is not mine.”
The fairy brought out a silver axe. “Is this yours?” she asked again.
The woodcutter replied, “No, this is not mine either.”
Finally, the fairy brought out an iron axe. The woodcutter’s eyes lit up. He said, “Yes, this one is mine!”
The fairy was pleased with his honesty. She gave him all three axes — the golden, the silver, and the iron.
The woodcutter went home happily.
